Hurricane Nate Had Little Impact On Entergy Customers

Sunday, October 08, 2017

Hurricane Nate made landfall around midnight near Biloxi, MS as a category 1 hurricane. Fortunately, the storm had little impact on Entergy customers.

Hurricane Nate continued its originally forecasted northeastern track as it quickly moved up through Mississippi as a tropical storm.  Winds have dropped below tropical storm strength and rainfall has ended for the Entergy service area.

We prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Fortunately for our customers, Hurricane Nate moved through our area quickly, minimizing its effects on our customers. Despite the low number of outages, safety for our employees and customers remains our core value.

Customers should stay safe as well. There is no way to know if a downed line is energized or not, so if you see one, keep your distance and call 1 800 9OUTAGE or 800 968 8243.

Stay away from standing water and debris from trees and other vegetation. It may be electrically charged from underground or downed power lines.

We would like to thank our customers, local, state and federal agencies for their cooperation as we prepared for Hurricane Nate and responded to any service interruptions.
