Entergy Louisiana crews have restored power to more than 40,000 customers affected by the winter weather that moved through Louisiana Friday.

Efforts continue to focus on the hard-hit North Shore area where a storm team of some 350 continue to restore power today. As of 11 a.m., there were more than 31,000 customers still without power in Louisiana, with more than 21,000 of them in Tangipahoa Parish.

Entergy Louisiana has brought in additional personnel from other areas of the state as well as Arkansas and Texas to help restore power. The storm knocked out power to some 72,300 Louisiana customers Friday.

Current estimates are the majority of customers will have power restored by tonight although restoration work will continue into Sunday afternoon in the hardest hit areas.
